Regional Homebuilder The Airston Group Undergoes Ownership Shift and
Re-Brands as Novella Homes

Retirement of Founding Partner Prompts Subsequent Retirement of Family-Based Name; Acclaimed Home Designs and Corporate Mission Remain Unchanged

December 14, 2009 – Woodbridge, VA  – The Airston Group, since 1976 a builder of upscale homes in Northern Virginia, is undergoing a corporate name change and brand image makeover following the retirement of founding partner George Webb, and takeover by remaining partner Bob Guaglianone. The Airston name was derived from Mr. Webb’s family history, and the two partners mutually agreed to change the company’s name to reflect his departure. While remaining largely unchanged, the firm will now be identified as Novella Homes. The rebranding effort will be complete, and the new brand name active in the market, by January 1, 2010.

During its 33-year history, The Airston Group has been highly respected for its townhome, condominium home and single-family home designs, built in sought after locations in the Northern Virginia suburbs. As a privately-held, locally-based homebuilder, Airston enjoyed a solid reputation for architectural design, construction quality, the locations of its communities and overall business philosophy. The company name is strongly associated with upscale, executive and estate style homes, luxury townhomes, and for condominiums in lifestyle-focused locations like historic Old Town Manassas. Moving forward, Novella Homes will focus on building single-family residences in a variety of price points.

“Novella Homes will operate under the same strict standards of design and craftsmanship, and to the same high standards of doing business, for which The Airston Group has always been known,” said Mr. Guaglianone. After 18 years as a partner in The Airston Group, Mr. Guaglianone is now partnering with his son, Steve, to form the executive leadership of Novella Homes. The new company name was inspired by the “new chapter” in the firm’s history. Starting prices for Novella Homes will range from the mid $300’s to the mid $800’s.

Novella Homes will continue to build in Airston’s Cardinal Fields community in Warrenton, and has recently launched a new community in Fairfax called Laurel Overlook. Other communities will become available for sale over the next several months. The company’s Woodbridge corporate headquarters location will remain the same, and new homeowners’ warranties issued by The Airston Group will continue to be serviced under the Novella Homes name.

For more information about Novella Homes, and for details about the company’s upcoming communities, please phone the corporate headquarters at 703-670-1980, or visit online at www.NovellaHomes.com.
